"I wanted to try and see if it was possible to represent my inner sight when in meditative states. Many days I would sit with my eyes closed, my face glazed with sunlight as the rays penetrated my eye lids."
What is Phosphene?
Phosphene is a phenomenon characterized by the experience of seeing light without light actually entering the eye. The main image seen is a photograph of the inside of my eyeball (the optic nerve on the right side). Inside and outside the eye, flashes of lightning, shifting waves of colors, and dream like images of trees transition into view -- All plausible sights that one might "see" in this everyday phenomenon. In my research, I've come to relate this way of seeing to meditative cognition or states of theta wave consciousness.
